What's new at Girls World Expo?
June 18, 2020
Many of you may know me, but for those who don't, my name is Valerie Moore and I am the new President & CEO of Girls World Expo. Here's the story...
I've been a part of the GWE organization (full and part time) for many years, and it's been the very best part of my work life. Late last year, GWE founder and my dear friend, Varinda Missett, expressed interest in stepping down, giving me the most amazing opportunity to buy the company and take the helm. I immediately said yes!
I took over on February 1st, and just as we entered the Expo season, the world changed in an instant. All events were postponed, and I, like so many other small business owners, had to temporarily close our doors.
I held off on making this announcement as we navigated this new territory, but recent events reminded me of just how important it is to lift each other up. We give young girls a platform, and as soon as it's safe, that's exactly what we will continue to do.
So, for now, tell us how you are! Send your photos, videos, and messages to us at hello@girlsworldexpo.com or on our socials. We know you have a lot to say and we want to hear it all!
Lastly, we want to take a moment to congratulate all of the GWE Advisory Board and Girl of Merit alumni who graduated this year. This obviously isn’t how you imagined this moment in your lives, but you are strong and capable and we are proud of you! Remember to call on us for recommendations or advice and to use your experience with GWE on your resume. You’ve worked hard and it’s been a privilege to see firsthand how talented you are.
XOXO - Valerie

2020 SEASON UPDATE
July 6, 2020
Hello GWE family,
We hope you are all staying well during this uncertain time.
As public places began opening back up, we started working on mitigation plans like reduced crowds, timed tickets, table spacing, masks, sanitizing stations, etc., with the hope that we might be able to go back to in-person Expos in the fall. Unfortunately, though, the COVID cases in some areas have spiked, ultimately causing closures again.
Because of this, we have made the difficult decision to postpone all in-person events until 2021. We hope that sometime early in the new year, we will be able to safely gather in person again.
In the meantime, we are excited to share that we are working on some virtual options – so stay tuned!!
We miss you all and can’t wait to see you again.
XOXO
The GWE Team
2021 SEASON UPDATE
Hello GWE family,
We hope you are all staying well while navigating the changing times.
As things started to improve this past summer, we were excited for in-person events in the fall. But as the spread of Covid-19 increased significantly in recent weeks, including new variants, we are again faced with difficult decisions and we think the best course of action is to wait until 2022 to gather again.
We hope you will stay with us as we continue to work through these challenges. We will update our website and socials as the situation evolves, always keeping your health and safety at the forefront. If needed, we will have masks and sanitizing stations available, and as always, we will adhere to CDC, state, and local guidelines.
We look forward to an exciting 2022 and can’t wait to see you again!
XOXO
The GWE Team
