Edo BranchFounder, This Girl Leads®, Inc.
Edo Watson-Branch, a rising leader, is the founding President and CEO of This Girl Leads®, Inc., a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization with a premise to empower young girls to exude the confidence to become self-sufficient leaders in underserved and disenfranchised communities. This Girl Leads® envisions the world as one that recognizes the future of woman that derives from empowered girls regardless of race, ethnicity, income, or social status.
Along with being the founding President and CEO of This Girl Leads®, Inc., Edo is currently a doctoral student at Walden University seeking a Doctor of Philosophy in Management with an emphasis in Leadership and Organizational Change. Her direct focus and passion are ensuring women advances into executive leadership roles within corporate America. Empowering girls at an early age is the seed for the “future of woman.”
Edo has earned several degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Lincoln University, a Historical Black College & University in Missouri. She also has two masters’ degrees from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Management. Stepping outside of her comfort zone in Information Technology, she obtained both of her Master degrees to learn more about the business aspect of organizations. The business aspect was fascinating for her, as she learned what management and leadership should look like, how they should act, and the knowledge they should hold to be a successful leader. Understanding the dynamics of management and leadership sparked a flame in her to become the best leader in any field by any means necessary. Not only did she face disparities as a second-class citizen, but she continues to push past any atrocities head first to become that woman of social change.
As a woman, Edo knows women can lead effectively as executive leaders of any organization. She hopes that she can inspire all young girls to keep their fire burning, never give up, be resilient put up a good fight for what they want, and stand in their confidence.
Edo Watson-Branch is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and hopes to touch the lives of as many people as she possibly can in a positive, empowering dynamic. Edo is a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter, and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Edo truly believes that This Girl Leads®, Inc. is the “future of woman” and an organization to live in its vision of empowering girls regardless of race, ethnicity, income or social status to become a self-sufficient, confident leader. After all, This Girl Leads®!
Edo was nominated for two awards for Women in Cable Technology in 2019. One nomination as a Rising Leader Award, and another nomination as the Spirit of the Midwest Award.
