Amy CoffeltProgram Specialist for Ending the Silence, National Alliance on Mental Illness - St. Louis
Amy received a Master’s of Arts degree in Christian Education from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is an expert at working with students, families, and staff members. She has a career in teaching that spans over 15 years in both Illinois and Missouri. She received her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Eastern Illinois University.
Currently, she is the Program Specialist for Ending the Silence at NAMI St. Louis. She has lived experience with PTSD, Bi-Polar 2, and anxiety. This fuels her passion to reach others with the message of hope and recovery. She trains students, families, and staff members on how to recognize and work toward recovery from mental health conditions.
Amy has trained over 5500 people in the last 10 months. These presentations have been to students, staff members, and families of those around the St. Charles and St. Louis area. Each week the number of presentations continue to grow as more and more schools and communities see the need for mental health education.
Amy has been married for 20 years to a wonderful husband that loves attending concerts and drag racing with her. They have two sons who are both in high school as a freshman and a senior. She loves dogs, especially her white schnauzer named Angelle.
