DIY Halloween Women Figure Costumes

Oct. 25, 2019

There is about one week away from Halloween! There is always that one year where you might not have had enough time to go to the store to get a costume for Halloween night! So, today's blog I decided to share some of my, "Do it yourself" Halloween costumes, #Girlpower themed!

  1. Strong 50's Woman/girl

This woman comes from a poster that was made in the 50's in support of women entering into the workforce. Talk about girl power. All you would need for this costume is a jean jacket or jean shirt, black or beige pants and a red bandana to tie around your head! Strike a pose like the picture above and you have a perfect replica of this strong woman!

2.Amelia Earhart

Amelia Earhart is definitely a role model for young girls and women. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in the early 1900s. That takes courage! All you would need for this costume is beige pants, some type of black or brown boots, a brown jacket or sweater and you can tie it together with a winter hat you may have in your closet or invest in a hat and goggles at party city! (Hat and goggle combo for $17 at party city)

3.Misty Copeland

Misty Copeland is a ballerina dancer with the America Ballet Theater, one of the top 3 ballet companies in the United States. She is the first African American dancer that got promoted to be a principal (lead) dancer, ever. If you happen to be a dancer or gymnast and have a leotard laying around then Misty Copeland would be a great costume idea for you! If you do not have a leotard you can find them at a walmart or target for cheap! If you want to use items that you already have you can choose a solid color tank or shirt and tuck it in to tights or leggings! Pair it with a cheap tutu (super cheap at five below or party city) and flats and you are now a lead ballet dancer! (wink, wink)

4.Susan B. Anthony

At just the age of 17, Susan B. Anthony became a voice for women. She was an American social reformer who played a huge role in the women's suffrage movement. If you are willing to spend a few bucks you can find a full Susan B. Anthony costume on amazon for around $23. If not, look for a black solid color plain dress. Pair this outfit with black flats or shoes and a white scarf and you'll be set to go!

5.Cleopatra

This is for sure a fan favorite of Halloween costumes. Cleopatra was the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. A female ruler? #Girlpower moment. You can find this costume package anywhere! If you wanted to make it yourself start with a white solid dress! Wear flats a gold, beige or blue belt. Wear a beige, gold, or brown colored headband around your head! If you are feeling fancy find some jewelry to spice up the look. After all, you are a queen!
